Our 2021 season opened on Wednesday, March 17th from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm at the Jerry Rendich Archery Range at Rodes Farm. This is a change from last year, which was Tuesdays at 2 pm. We will maintain the 2 pm time until the hot weather arrives. Starting on Sunday, April 11 the WSC archery group started its sessions every other Sunday at the field range at the end of Old Stoney Creek Road. As before, the time is 2 pm to 4 pm or so.

Despite a virus-shortened late start, the 2020 season of the Wintergreen Sporting Club archery group was very productive.

The Wintergreen Sporting Club 2019 Archery Invitational Tournament & Picnic on October 22 went exactly as planned, which is to say it rained on Tuesday, so the meal was moved to the Rodes Farm pavilion and the tournament was held on Wednesday.

Lane eight–25 yard, uphill at the very, very end of the field range trail–is finally ready for our arrows.

The core crowd of those involved in archery has slowly grown to the point where adding another lane at Rodes Farm made sense.

On April 28 a team of five cleared the paths of leaves and debris and repaired four targets at the field trail at the end of Old Stoney Creek Road

There was more to it than it looks.

After a very successful 2016, the WSC archery effort in 2017 will evolve from a working proof-of-concept into a solid, sustainable program. This year members will enjoy a more detailed archery schedule, enhanced facilities, and more loaner equipment for those new to the sport.

There was a huge increase in participation and interest in the archery program in 2016. Practice and coaching sessions were held from May to early November every Tuesday at the Rodes Farm range and 1-2 times monthly on Sunday afternoons at the field archery trail.

The April 15th work day on the new WSC archery field went well, with some 13 volunteers showing up to lend a hand. The Friday afternoon weather could not have been better.
