About 60 anglers and dozens more spectators showed up to compete in the Eighth Annual Trout Fishing Tournament put on by the Wintergreen Sporting Club and the Wintergreen Property Owners Association.
Read MoreMay 22nd- The Trout Pond is now “catch and keep” all the fish you can reasonably eat. The rules for bait have also been relaxed until October 1, 2026. Please fish all you like and keep all you catch. You may use any bait you wish – no restrictions.
As noted these rules apply until October 1, 2026 at which time the normal rules will be reinstated for the remainder of the year. Fishing on the pond is restricted to Wintergreen property owners and their guests; a WPOA fishing permit must be displayed, and a valid VA freshwater fishing license is required.
Trout Pond is stocked with Rainbow Trout in a cooperative program with the WSC and the Wintergreen Property Owners Association. Thanks to the WSC volunteers for feeding the fish.
