Shooting News, Reports, & Events
The WSC shooting group is made up of two segments: shotgun (shooting at flying clay targets), and pistol & rifle. Both hold regularly scheduled shooting events at established public and private ranges in central Virginia. Those new to shooting sports are welcome to observe at any event and join the group at their post-shoot restaurant visits. Shooting safely is stressed at all times.
New this year: We have purchased some steel targets that hang from a rack and can be set up independently of range and distance. We have 4”, 6”, and 8” size targets which ring like a gong when hit.
2023 marked the 10th Anniversary of the WSC.

Every Monday, except for national holidays, our group will assemble at 9 am in the parking lot of the Stoney Creek Golf Clubhouse (1354 Stoney Creek West) to carpool or caravan to the Rivanna Rifle and Pistol Club* ranges.

With COVID beginning to fade, the WSC Shooting Group has moved back into a more normal shooting schedule shooting every first and third Monday of the month with an exception for July 4 (we shoot on July 5th), starting on May 3rd. We expect to hold impromptu shoots throughout the season as well.
Now in Phase 3, each group can now engage in activities as they see fit.
