We can utilize both the indoor and outdoor ranges depending on weather conditions and the type of firearms you wish to shoot. We will cease fire before noon and head back, grabbing lunch at places such as Crossroads Deli, Blue Mountain Brewery, or possibly back here in Nellysford.

Since we are beginning a new season, it’s an appropriate time to emphasize firearm safety
SAFETY is paramount in everything we do at any range.
The fundamental rules for safe gun handling include:

  • ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.

  • ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

  • ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to shoot.

  • At the range, no handling of firearms when anyone is downrange; place it on the table action open.

  • When shooting indoors, transport the pistol or rifle to the shooting position in a suitable gun case, and store the case at the shooting platform for return after shooting.

  • When shooting outdoors, take the firearm to the shooting platform in a case and store the case near the shooting platform for storage after shooting.

  • When shooting downrange, utilize a holster and keep the firearm inside the holster until ready to shoot. After shooting, return the firearm to the holster before leaving the shooting position. Note: Holsters should be designed to completely cover the trigger guard.  For the safest entry and exit, elastic and canvas holsters at the range are discouraged.
