About 60 anglers and dozens more spectators showed up to compete in the Eighth Annual Trout Fishing Tournament put on by the Wintergreen Sporting Club and the Wintergreen Property Owners Association.

May 22nd- The Trout Pond is now “catch and keep” all the fish you can reasonably eat. The rules for bait have also been relaxed until October 1, 2026. Please fish all you like and keep all you catch. You may use any bait you wish – no restrictions.

As noted these rules apply until October 1, 2026 at which time the normal rules will be reinstated for the remainder of the year. Fishing on the pond is restricted to Wintergreen property owners and their guests; a WPOA fishing permit must be displayed, and a valid VA freshwater fishing license is required.

Trout Pond is stocked with Rainbow Trout in a cooperative program with the WSC and the Wintergreen Property Owners Association.  Thanks to the WSC volunteers for feeding the fish. Join us on our hike to White Rock Falls Loop off the Blue Ridge Parkway on Saturday, May 9th.  This beautiful hike nearby on the Blue Ridge Parkway is a great opportunity to enjoy our local nature.

Hike/Bike: Join us June 5th/6th for a bike ride along the Virginia Creeper Trail and a hike through Grayson Highlands State Park.

This Wintergreen Sporting Club (WSC) Boating Group 2026 preliminary schedule is set. Join us for another exciting year of paddling.

Join us as we hike Crabtree Falls on Friday, April 17th. This moderately difficult hike follows multiple water cascades with outstanding valley views at the overlook above the falls.

Spring Fly Fishing Classes 2026

Tentative 2026 Biking Schedule. More details and signups will be emailed to the WSC biking newsletter list as we get closer to each event.

The 2026 Pistol and Firearms Schedule is enclosed. All sessions will be held on Mondays.

The hike will start in Wintergreen and continue on the Appalachian Trail (heading north). We will have to a fantastic viewpoint of Wintergreen Resort and then hike back.
