Hike: Humpback Rocks - Friday, April 11th

Join us as we hike Humpback Rocks. We will start the hike at the Humpback Rocks Picnic Area, and hike over Humpback Mountain, and down to the rocks. From the rocks, we will be hike down to the Humpback Rocks Trailhead parking lot. This moderately difficult 4-mile one-way hike offers views of the surrounding valleys. Hikers will meet at the Humpback Rock trailhead, and we will carpool over to the picnic area to begin the hike. Read all of the details below before signing up.
All are invited to join us for lunch at Blue Mountain Brewery after the hike.
Note: This hike is moderately difficult with over 1,000ft elevation change, No dogs except service dogs are permitted on this group hike.

Humpback Rocks Signup (Friday, April 11th)
Meet: Humpback Rocks Trailhead on Friday, April 11th at 9:00 am (here). From here, we will carpool over to the Humpback Picnic Area to begin the hike.
Trail Description: This one-way hike follows the Appalachian Trail northbound. The trail goes over Humpback Mountain, and down to Humpback Rocks. From here, we will head down the trail to the cars parked at the trailhead.
On the hike, hikers will have the option to hike off trail to view a vintage military aircraft wreckage from the 1960s (less than 1/4 mile off trail). For those not wanting to venture off trail, we will take a break on the trail.
Difficulty: Moderately difficult (over 1,000 ft elevation gain and loss). Distance: 4 miles; Hike Duration: 3 hours
Bring: Daypacks, water (1 liter minimum per person), and snacks for a break at the top. Trekking poles and insect repellent are recommended.
