The Fishing Group's next conclave is Monday, July 12th. This year the group's regular meetings to talk fishing are usually on the second Monday of the month. There are also "special" conclaves announced via email, such as this one that was held on June 21st with insights from Tommy Lawhorne. There are plans for a Fall Bass Tournament. Projects such as helping WPOA manage the ponds are also on tap. The three fishing group leads are Ron Coté, Jerry Gress, & Chris Corish.

The Archery Group now has practice and coaching sessions at least six times a month on their two ranges. WSC member John Morgan is now a Level 2 Archery Instructor. He'll be offering a seminar on July 13th, using the National Training System. The club has loaner equipment for beginners and offers training at their Rodes Farm range by appointment. The group lead is Mike Capps.

The Shooting Group is meeting every first and third Monday morning for pistol, rifle, and shotgun practice, plus there are regular Friday shotgun-only sessions announced via email as well. Certified Instructor Jim White has started a skills development program for members seeking to improve their pistol shooting skills. The program is always open for new shooters. The group leads are Jerry Gress, Ron Coté, and Jim White.

The Biking Group has had several successful outings this year. They will soon be sending out details about riding the Jackson River Trail on Wednesday, July 7th, and on Wednesday, July 21st, the group will ride the Capital Trail. The group is also looking at riding Rt. 876 out of Middlebrook, maybe on July 14 or July 28. As always, details will come via the group's email newsletters sent out by biking group lead Tim Jordan.

The Boating Group has a trip on the James River set for June 30th with 18 members signed up. The James River trip is their second trip this year, the first being a guided tour on the Rivanna River out of Charlottesville that put 13 people on the water. Both of these trips sold out with just one email notice. The next run will be announced in a few weeks with an eye on the water levels. The group leads are Richard Elder and Charles Batchelor.


The Wintergreen Sporting Club's three officers–Ron Coté, president; Robin Pullen, secretary; and Jerry Gress, treasurer–have set the 2021 WSC annual meeting for Saturday, October 30 at Tuckahoe Clubhouse.
