The WSC boating season started with a 5.5 mile Charlottesville to Milton run on the Rivanna on Thursday, May 20th. This boating trip is looking to become the start of the season tradition for the club and why not? As before, it’s almost ideal.

The weather could not have been better. This paddle was a touch challenging at times because of the low water making a few (but not all) of the Class 1 and 2 rapids bumpy for the 13 club members, but never threatening. It’s was all fun. As before, Rivanna River Company’s Gabe Silver and crew did a great job.

There was plenty of white water but it was not a worry thanks to the guidance of Gabe Silver.

Patty and Keith Smith elected to use a canoe and handled it well. Everyone else used a kayak.
