The Wintergreen Sporting Club’s hikes vary from easy to challenging, long and short. The goal is to provide a fun way to explore new and familiar parts of this region’s beautiful nature and history with your friends and neighbors. The club strives to have every hiker have a good experience on every hike.
Join us on our hike to White Rock Falls Loop off the Blue Ridge Parkway on Saturday, May 9th. This beautiful hike nearby on the Blue Ridge Parkway is a great opportunity to enjoy our local nature.
Hike/Bike: Join us June 5th/6th for a bike ride along the Virginia Creeper Trail and a hike through Grayson Highlands State Park.
Join us as we hike Crabtree Falls on Friday, April 17th. This moderately difficult hike follows multiple water cascades with outstanding valley views at the overlook above the falls.
The hike will start in Wintergreen and continue on the Appalachian Trail (heading north). We will have to a fantastic viewpoint of Wintergreen Resort and then hike back.

Join this dog friendly hike around the valley for Valentine’s Day on February 17th. The hike is an easy 3 mile hike and we will have chocolate to share to celebrate the holiday.
Join us for a chili lunch to celebrate the end of the hiking year on Nov 14th at 1:00 pm. The hike to the cabin is an easy hike. In addition, there is an optional morning hike to White Rock Falls before the lunch. Hike starts at 10:00 am.
Join us as we hike to Mount Pleasant and enjoy the beautiful fall colors. This moderately difficult hike is 5.9 miles total with an elevation gain/loss of 1300 feet. T
Hike Scheduled: St Mary’s Falls in St. Mary’s Wilderness Area on Friday, August 15th. The hike is a wet one with multiple stream crossings. It’s a fun hike for the summer and there is a swimming hole by the falls. HIKE IS CURRENTLY FULL.
