Hike: Three Ridges to Hanging Rock - Friday, October 18th: Hike is full

Join us as we hike Hanging Rock in the Three Ridges Wilderness Area.

This beautiful fall hike starts at Love Gap along a forest road and then joins the Appalachian Trail southbound. Hike over Bee Mountain and then on the Hanging Rock Ledge with beautiful views.

Note: This hike is a challenging 7 mile hike with 1700 ft of elevation gain. Previous hiking experience of similar difficulty is required. No dogs except service dogs are permitted on this group hike.

Meet: Love Gap Parking area at MP 15.5 (on the left side of the road heading south) - here. (Driving Distance: 12 miles from Stoney Creek).

Trail Description: This out-and-back trail follows a forest fire road and then joins the Appalachian Trail heading south. Trail climbs Bee Mountain and then onto Three Ridges Mountain to the overlook.

Difficulty: Challenging (1700’ elevation gain and loss). Distance: 7 miles; Hike Duration: 4 - 4.5 hours

Bring: Daypacks, water (2 liter per person), snacks and lunch. Trekking poles and insect repellent are recommended.
