Hike: Crabtree Falls - Wednesday, March 26th

Join us as we hike Crabtree Falls. This moderate 3 mile trail wanders through the mountainside offering scenic views of 5 major cascades falling a total distance of 1,200 feet. Overlooks allow hikers to enjoy the beauty of the valley. The trailhead is just a 35 minute drive from Stoney Creek. Read all of the details below before signing up.

Note: This hike is moderately difficult with over 1,000ft elevation change, No dogs except service dogs are permitted on this group hike.

Crabtree Falls Signup (Wednesday, March26th)

Meet: Stoney Creek Golf Course Parking Area on Wednesday, March26th at 8:45 am. We will carpool to the St. Mary’s Wilderness Parking area (Driving Distance: 20 miles). Alternately, if you prefer to drive, meet at 9:30 am at the trailhead at the Crabtree Falls Parking Lot off of Route 56 (37.850976, -79.079627). The drive will take approximately 35 minutes. Note: There is a $3 parking fee unless you have a National Parks Pass.

Trail Description: This out-and-back trail goes up the mountain and overlooks 5 water cascades. Beautiful views of the valley below can be seen from the overlook at the top.

Difficulty: Moderately difficult (1,076’ elevation gain and loss). Distance: 3.1 miles; Hike Duration: 2.5 hours

Bring: Daypacks, water (1 liter minimum per person), and snacks for a break at the top. Trekking poles and insect repellent are recommended.
