“Last week we caught close to 25 rainbows, all which were returned unharmed. The big news is I finally caught a grass carp,” says Chris Corish.

The number of trout you can keep from the Trout Pond was is now the standard two per person per day. It was one per person per day early in the spring.

WSC members Lenlee and Chris Corish live on the Trout Pond, so we get excellent reports. On the first weekend in March Chris and two of their out of town guests has a great time on the pond.

Darryl Brewer reports on his successful visits to the Trout Pond and Smallie Pond on Tuesday, February 26th and Thursday, February 28th, where he says he met “several very nice fisherman.”

Chris and Lenlee Corish were having dinner on their back porch on Wednesday (April 12) overlooking the Trout Pond when they noticed a lot of fish breaking on the water.

At the club meeting on Saturday it was noted that the trout were not paying much attention to those coming to fish. Did that change in two days? Maybe. Andy Burdersky caught four trout on Monday, all on #16 nymphs. "I kept the smallest, a 14-incher, one was almost 19 inches," he noted.

Andy Burdetsky caught this nice 4 lb 20-inch Smallmouth this week on the James near Eagle Rock.

This winter Wintergreen Property Owners Associations kindly provided used Christmas trees to volunteers of the Wintergreen Sporting Club' fishing group. The volunteers worked with the trees, tying them up with concrete blocks so they would sink and stay down Stoney Creek's ponds.

Another big Muskie caught by Andy Burdetsk. This one was caught on Tuesday, February 5th on the James River near Buchanan. It measured 42 inches and was caught on crankbait. See what we mean by again HERE.
