Report on July Shenandoah River Trip

Sixteen WSC members had a good adventure down the South fork of the Shenandoah River on July 20th. This excursion was led by Judy and Jerry Rendich.

“Despite a couple of tip-overs, we all had a super good time, reports Jerry. Shenandoah River Outfitters in Luray did a great job moving everyone up river and providing extra kayaks.

“This section of the river is very scenic as it winds its way north and east through majestic gorges and quiet campgrounds. Water levels and weather were in our favor,” Jerry says. The river has several Class I and II whitewater rapids to navigate.

“It was really a perfect day. We picnicked along the way, then gathered at Aioli's restaurant in Staunton for dinner.

"Here's hoping that even more club members will join us for next month's excursion,” says Jerry. Stay tuned for details on that trip.
