Hike: Mount Pleasant: Friday, October 17th

Join us as we hike on the Henry Lanum Trail to Mount Pleasant/Mount Pompey.
The trail climbs to a spectacular view at the summit of Mount Pleasant. The trailhead is just an hour’s drive from Wintergreen. Read all of the details below before signing up.
Note: This hike is a moderately difficult hike with a short steep spur at the top to reach to the viewpoint. No dogs except service dogs are permitted on this group hike.

Mount Pleasant Signup (Friday, October 17th)
Please sign up each person individually.
Meet: Stoney Creek Golf Course Parking Area on Friday, October 17th at 9:00 am. We will carpool to the Mount Pleasant Parking area (Driving Distance: 44 miles). Alternately, if you prefer to drive, meet at 10:00 am at the trailhead at the Mount Pleasant Trailhead, Amherst, VA. The drive will take approximately 1 hour and the last 2 miles are on a unpaved gravel road.
Trail Description: This 5.9 mile loop trail climbs to the top of Mount Pleasant and Mount Pompey. Trail is well-maintained with a short rocky steep spur trail to the viewpoints.
Difficulty: Moderately Difficult (1,300 ft elevation gain and loss). Distance: 5.9 miles; Hike Duration: 3.5 hours
Bring: Daypacks, water (1 liter minimum per person), snacks and lunch. We will eat lunch at the top. Trekking poles are recommended.
