A person with some creativity and an eye for detail will find this a fun challenge.

No doubt you have a lot of questions that need answering before committing. Email Jim White at president@wtgsportingclub.org to discuss setting up a hands-on demonstration so you can see first-hand what this is all about and get all your questions answered.

The Wintergreen Sporting Club is seeking a volunteer "online supervisor" who would assist the leaders of all six groups and the board in creating and sending quality email newsletters and maintaining the club's website.

WSC members are enthusiastic about the club's sporting programs and enjoy sharing their expertise and demonstrating their abilities, which in more than a few cases are "expert" level but vary widely.

WSC leaders' expertise and ability regarding websites and newsletters also vary a great deal. This new volunteer serving as the WSC online supervisor would be trained to serve as the go-to person on "technical" matters that come up in publishing email newsletters and the website, helping find and post appropriate images, be a friendly set of eyes on what's to be published so the all-volunteer group can continue communicating "who, what, when, where, why, how, and how much" clearly and accurately.

Interested?

Don't worry, comprehensive training will be provided, allowing you plenty of time to learn by doing. A few WSC leaders are already comfortable posting on the website and sending targeted newsletters. The technical aspects of the newsletters and website are procedural and the same for all. A person with some creativity and an eye for detail will find this a fun challenge.

The WSC online supervisor will work with the same online platforms as the Wintergreen Property Owners Association, WTG Fire & Rescue, Wintergreen Police, the valley and mountain neighborhood associations, Wintergreen Adaptive Sports, Wintergreen Music, Here to Stay in Wintergreen, the Wintergreen Community Foundation, and the Wintergreen Bulletin Board.

You will not be responsible for maintaining the membership records in MailChimp or billing members on the Squarespace website; this is the job of the WSC treasurer. The WSC secretary maintains the official ownership of the club's two online services.

This is a high-impact position.

The WSC's newsletters are seen on the WPOA website's news page and its calendar via the WSC Facebook account that’s updated using MailChimp. A link to the Wintergreen Sporting Club in on the Wintergreen Resort website in its footer, listed along with other key resort community groups such as Wintergreen Music and WPOA.

WSC has 789 subscribers to its newsletters, and there are over 8,500 unique visitors to its website annually. The club is committed to ensuring its online communications reflect well on its membership and the overall Wintergreen community. The online supervisor's contribution will be key.

The club's procedures for new website and newsletter posts are well-established, making taking on this role easier. A library of templates and useful images on both platforms is in place. Your input will be treated with respect and appreciated. Email Jim White at president@wtgsportingclub.org to learn more.
