Archery Tournament and Picnic 2022

The Wintergreen Sporting Club archery group had spectacular weather for its end-of-season archery tournament at Rodes Farm on November 1st–sunny, with highs in the low 70s.
The competition was highly spirited. In the men’s barebow category, Mark Gomersall won the gold medal, followed by Charles Batchelor with the silver, and Peter Parker with the bronze. Michael Yurewicz earned four stars during the Tuesday competition. In the women’s barebow category, Maria Fox won the gold medal.
In the compound category, Robin Pullen won the gold medal, followed by Donna Crabtree with the silver.
In a special category for overall best performance and most improved from their personal best score, Peter Parker won the gold medal, Maria Fox the silver, and Mark Gomersall the bronze. Paul Purpura was awarded an honorary bronze; although an equipment malfunction kept Paul from competing, he supported all his fellow archers with gusto
After the tournament archers and their guests enjoyed a delicious potluck lunch of fried chicken, appetizers, side dishes, and desserts.
Special thanks to John Morgan, our Certified Level 2 archery instructor for flawlessly orchestrating the competition, judiciously analyzing the results, and hand-crafting the awards with his 3-D printer.
