Bob and Vicki Keenan host WSC Fishing Conclave
/The setting for our August 5th Fishing Conclave was idyllic. Having it at Bob and Vicki Keenan's large stone patio overlooking Lake Monacan would have been fine enough alone. And the weather was perfect; very warm in the shade of the house with a steady breeze from the lake.

But, on top of all of this, the Keenans had tables with blue and white table cloths each with flower centerpieces. Then, at the end, they served up what had been laughably described in the invitations as "heavy appetizers."
Some 40 WSC members and guests were at the afternoon conclave. A big thank you to our speaker, Jake Billmyer. Jake is the manager of the Orvis store in Charlottesville and has also worked as the Orvis fishing manager. He talked about fly fishing insights and techniques for our local Wintergreen area ponds and shared some interesting insights on the types of flies and poppers which work best on our ponds.
