This special project was suggested by multiple fishing group members at our September get-together.
We will meet at the western-end (back row) of the Stoney Creek Bar and Grill parking lot on Monday, October 23rd at 3 pm. From there we will, via carpooling, visit Wintergreen's Stoney Creek 12 ponds available for fishing.
This tour has two worthwhile goals: Document the access points to each of these ponds and, perhaps most useful to the community overall, to come up with a common name for each pond.
These ponds currently do not have agreed-upon names. This makes it often confusing when talking to each other–and it is especially difficult explaining "where" to new arrivals to Wintergreen. Right now, when speaking of a specific pond, we are often forced to use approximate proximity to streets or vague landmarks. Names (and a map) for Wintergreen's ponds are overdue.
It should be an interesting and fun day. Join us. Wear good walking shoes and be prepared to suggest some good names for our ponds.
